Alobwede Theophile Ngime, Vulnerable Young Girls Sew Project

In Muyuka, Cameroon, sewing is a practice that is strongly cherished among women, especially as traditional African print has become a global demand. Alobwede Theophile Ngime has created the Vulnerable Young Girls Sew Project, where eight girls will be partnered with an experienced seamstress, who will not only provide a years training in sewing techniques but also serve as a role model. The project will give participants economic independence as well as reduce exploitation and risk of contracting life-threatening infections.
