Aline Binyungu Nzigire, Tools for the Presentation of Cultural Orientation, Safety Plan and Health Education to Newly Refugees Families
Women’s Refugee Care is a vital center providing a three month program that allows newly resettled refugee families a smooth adaptation to their new communities. The Cultural Orientation is designed to help refugees build the social and life skills need to succeed in the American society.
Refugee populations often grow up without basic life needs, such as running water, electricity, daily meals, health system, and transportation.
While in the transition to life in the U.S, they are introduced to a wide variety of educational programs, including cultural orientation, safety plans for their housing and neighborhood, and health education. Together, these programs help refugees stay safe and healthy during their difficult transition.
