Alexis Stephens & Christian Parsons, the Tiny House Expedition
Alexis Stephens & Christian Parsons are a filmmaker duo embarking on an extraordinary expedition across North America to document grassroots projects that creatively address modern housing issues such as the lack of affordable housing and unprecedented rates of homelessness.
As a part of their project, the Tiny House Expedition, the couple has built their own tiny house on wheels where they will live as they journey to communities across the continent documenting over 30 different micro-housing projects for a feature film. In their documentary they plan to tell the story of how each project came to be, the creative forces behind them, and the ways in which such projects are making a difference in their communities.
As they travel, Alexis and Christian will also educate the wider community about micro-housing by sharing the stories they collect. They will use their own tiny house to demo the functionality of such spaces by holding open houses, community potlucks, roundtable discussions, and participating in other community events.
Alexis states, “We want to share stories of the inspiring, innovative community-makers across the country building social capital & creating creative housing solutions.”
