Uplands PEAK Sanctuary, a 2015 TPP grantee, is raising $230,000 to move to Freedom, Indiana so that even more visitors can enjoy spending time with the rescued cows, chickens, goats, and pigs. PEAK’s new home will be a 105-acre farm in Freedom, IN. Funds will be used to purchase the property, transport animal residents and moveable structures, fence in at least 5 acres immediately, and ready the barn. All funds raised will be matched by a generous donor.
“Freedom lies in being bold,” said co-founder Michelle Pruitt. “We are excited about becoming a member of the Bloomington/Indianapolis area community. We have seen time and again that, given the opportunity to experience the sentience of farmed animals, people are changed. And those changes ripple out into the world.”
