TPP grantee InspireIT is hosting the Mobile App Fest, an annual technology competition targeted at young girls aged 13 to 17 in secondary schools in Nigeria. The competition will be focused on students developing mobile applications to solve social problems in their communities. Social problems such as: high levels of crime, high levels of unemployment, poverty, female genital mutilation, sexual abuse, lack of education, security and drug abuse.
The event will be organized in collaboration with ProjectCSGirls, an international nonprofit organization based in Washington DC USA and dedicated to closing the gender gap in computing and technology.
The aim of the event is for students to develop mobile applications to address social problems in the communities in Nigeria.
