TPP grantee, Dr. Joseph Asare, presents a five-month training on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) for deprived community school teachers in the Kwahu District of Ghana. The training takes place once every month. The goals of the training are to: 1) educate teachers on how ACEs affect students’ brain development, academic and social life; 2) equip teachers with knowledge and skills to be able to identify and provide therapy to students with high ACEs; 3) equip teachers with modern teaching methods and also provide therapy to teachers with high ACEs. Studies have shown that ACEs affects both the social life and psychological development of all children irrespective of their geographical location. Dr. Asare and Asaasiam Vision International believe that through this training they would be able to help both teachers and students live ACEs free.
