Sophia Hanson is the Co-Founder of the National Youth Foundation, a group mobilized to promote gender equality and kindness. In partnership with players from the NBA and NFL, they host a national anti-bullying student book competition. Following the successful launch of the anti-bullying contest, she turned her attention to closing the biographical gender gap in children’s books.
In 2018, with support from The Pollination Project, the Amazing Women’s Edition student writing competition was launched. The winning book from the 2018 Amazing Women’s Edition contest has been entered into the collection at the Smithsonian Museum, the largest museum system in the world.
Sophia resides in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania with her husband Tom, their two daughters Bella and Victoria and enough cats to keep life interesting.
