Denise is the mother of eight children, two of whom were internationally adopted. She also has two beautiful grand daughters. Denise and her husband, Jimmy, own an independent retail pharmacy, Burry’s Pharmacy, in Leesburg, Florida. Prior to founding
Forward Paths Foundation, Inc., Denise was a certified Guardian Ad Litem with the 5th Circuit Court, State of Florida. She was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award twice for her service, once for Lake County and the second time for Florida’s 5th Circuit. Her role as a Guardian Ad Litem lead her to become concerned for kids that aged out of foster care as well as homeless unaccompanied youths.

In 2017, she was awarded the Mayor’s Award by the City of Leesburg and the Humanitarian Award by the Leesburg Chamber of Commerce for her work with Forward Paths. She is passionate about makingsure that our at-risk youth begin their adult lives surrounded my compassionate supportive adults in an environment where they can complete their education and obtain the life skills needed to live independent successful lives. Forward Paths Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit in Central Florida that focuses on homeless youth. They are working hard to create housing opportunities for their community’s homeless youth. They also work
to give these youth the guidance and support they need through mentoring and education.
