Yaminah Childress, J.D., is a Social Entrepreneur who holds three degrees including an AAin Education, BS in Business Administration, and a Juris Doctorate in Law. She is the founder and operator of four diverse comp-anies including the Childress Group LLC a tax, legal support and consulting firm, YANY a retail company of natural cosmetics and alternative healing oils, IAmYaminah Inc, her empowerment brand, and her project organization, the DREAM It Forward Foundation Inc (DIFF).

DIFF’s mission is to help build a foundation of knowledge, life skills, and cultural awareness that will promote mental, physical, social, and emotional growth within the lives of under-served and at-risk youth and women. Yaminah is proud to say that she recently developed a global mentoring program, with an inaugural class of 7 girls of color, from 2 countries including the USA and Uganda, and 3 US states.

Yaminah is passionate about her work with DIFF because she lived the life of the youth she serves. Finding herself a single mother at age 19, and once high-school dropout, she knows how important mentorship is for children in under-served communities, and strives to be that for all youth and women she encounters.

The most important things to Yaminah are being a mother to her 3 daughters and 1 son, a mentor to girls and women across the world, activism and social change. Yaminah spends a large majority of her time training, mentoring, and empowering others to reach greatness and is especially dedicated to teen girls and women’s empowerment.

Yaminah has been featured in several articles for her work including: The Atlanta Business Chronicles “Women on the Move,” Huffington Post, and GeorgiaTrend Magazine as a Georgia’s 40 Under 40, to name a few. She hopes that through being a Youth Leadership Hub Fellow, that she can inspire other youth to do great things, and meet others who share her passion for youth development.
