Jeff Kirschner, Litterati, Oakland, CA, USA

It was more than just the money. This was a vote of confidence. A belief that Litterati was an idea that mattered. And in those early days, when things are murky, and the path forward is murky at best, knowing someone has your back can be the difference between quitting and continuing.  The grant helped us build our architecture, and grow our influence. From a product perspective, we’re gathering, analyzing, and displaying a ton of data. That requires servers and storage. The seed grant allowed us to immediately scale in order to meet the growing demands of the Litterati community. Just as importantly, the fact that Litterati was now supported by The Pollination Project signaled to the world that we were for real. It provided that all important stamp of approval, which for any early stage project, is enormously influential.
