Chris McGilvery is from San Antonio, Texas, but has lived and traveled abroad where he discovered his passion in helping student achieve success through their education. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and two Masters Degrees in Higher Education and Curriculum and Instruction from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. Chris has experience teaching in both the public and private sector of education, conducted research and published scholarly papers, and runs the nonprofit organization Give More HUGS (GMH).
Chris is the Founder and CHIEF HUGGER. HUGS stands for Helping Unite Giving Souls. Chris and his passionate team at GMH believe every child deserves to experience a quality education. They work hard to unite with communities to help students in need with educational materials, books, extracurricular activity equipment, leadership development, and inspiration. Chris loves to cook, spend time with his wife and son, practice mindfulness, and run every now and then.
