I applied for the Pollination Project Grant the year before our first season. During that period it was still up in the air whether the Market Shares Program would actually come to fruition. The process of applying for the grant and the questions the Pollination Project asked forced me to organize my dreams for the program into a practical model. Having a deadline gave me the motivation to put my head down and do what was needed to make sure that by September things were in place to run a food distribution program…It is important to remember…where our roots lie. The Pollination Project was not only a root, but also our water, and sun.
