Kirsten Chavis on Shelby’s Space

Shelby's SpaceA 10-Year-Old Change Maker, June 2015

“Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting a 10-year-old girl who is already setting out to change the world.”

“The passion, excitement, and dedication Kirsten Chavis has for what she is doing is beyond amazing. Just a few of her accomplishments include serving as the President of her school’s Earth Club, serving as a Youth Corps Member of the non-profit Grades of Green, and serving as a youth member of the Board of Directors for the Foster & Banks Walk in Faith Foundation.”

“At just nine years old, she became the youngest ever grantee of the Pollination Project, an organization that grants $1,000 awards to individuals to seed passion projects that will change the world. With her $1,000 grant from the Pollination Project and Levi Strauss & Co., Kirsten hosted a “Go Green Resource & Recycling Earth Day” event for her school and community in April of this year.”
