Yash Maniar is the Co-founder of Shunya Alternatives, an organisation that promotes sustainable development by providing eco-friendly products that benefit the society and the planet. Shunya (means Zero) started with promoting one time use tableware from sugarcane fibre and now encompasses many more products made by small communities in India. Shunya received the pollination grant in 2014.
A management student by education, he started his journey by working with a start-up that recycled obsolete electronics. His curiosity to find solution to environmental challenges led him to other organisations like Centre for Science and Environment and Indian Institute of Packaging. He wants to harness his leadership and management skills to do ‘good business’ that can help society and the environment.
